Handpainted Ceramic Sculptures

I have been in love with boots since my childhood, growing up on a farm in the midwest.

Fine boots are three dimensional wearable art: comfortable and easy to wear, they create a feeling of commanding the ground on which one walks.

When I discovered this old ceramic boot mold (made from an actual vintage leather boot) I was able to combine my love of fancy footwear with my long experience in the ceramic craft.

These finished sculptures are one of a kind ceramic pieces, patterned after vintage cowboy boots. Each boot is 13.5 inches tall.

The raised designs are handbuilt with ceramic slip and then painted with many layers of color and glaze.
