Driving Directions from Carmel to 7990 Carmel Valley Road:

Heading south on Route 1 from the Ocean Avenue intersection, you will turn left on Carmel Valley Road and head east.

Keep an eye on your odometer, on the mailbox numbers, and on the occasional and elusive mile markers on the shoulder of the road.

Our house is 4.2 miles east of the intersection of Route 1 and Carmel Valley Road.

As the mailbox numbers reach 7000, keep a sharp lookout for this series of markers:

1) Valley Hills Shops / Baja Cantina

2) "Farmstand/Organic Kitchen" and "Earthbound Farms"

3) Valley Hills Nursery (hard to see at night)

Then come three speed limit signs in quick succession:

1) "45 MPH Zone Ahead"

2) "45 MPH"

3) and then a "25 MPH School Zone" sign.

AS YOU APPROACH THE "25 MPH" SIGN, turn on your right blinker and pull off onto the shoulder. Look for the Big Red Mailbox.

Turn right into the driveway.

The driveway IMMEDIATELY splits into two parallel drives, with a fence in between them. Both driveways head straight back directly from the road. Take the left driveway.

Drive straight ahead to the last house and park diagonally by the wooden fence.

Look behind you and to the left. You will see a sign on the gate of my studio (actually "7990B")
